“Watu Wote” was the big winner of the 2nd edition of the Arroios Fim Festival, which had its closing session last Saturday, September 16. The film by Katja Benrath of Germany has won the Libertas AFF Best Short Film, which awards the best short film of the festival. “New Neighbors” by E.G. Bailey, from the United States of America, won the best fiction category; “Luíza”, by Caio Baú, from Brazil, in the category of best documentary; “Dent de Lléo”, by Jorge Bellver, from Spain in the category of best animation.

After the announcement of the winners, the band “Original Bandalheira” closed in the best way this 2nd edition of the film festival of the Arroios parish. The last day of the Arroios Film Festival also featured an audiodescription session – a service that allows people with visual impairments to access what is happening on the screen in a full and autonomous way – making it the country’s first film festival to do it.

With an annual organization by the Parish Council, the Arroios Film Festival is a short film festival whose works approach, through the universal language of cinema, the theme of inclusion. This year, the festival featured 37 films in the official selection and ran from 9 to 16 September in the auditorium of the Escola Secundária de Camões.
